Snoop Dogg Meets Pierre the Bulldog
“Snoop with a little French dog!” “SNOOP WITH A LITTLE FRENCH DOG!” Is it stuck in your head yet? You’re welcome. In a meet-cute for the ages captured by Access Hollywood, Snoop encountered a beret-bearing bulldog whom he promptly named after couturier Pierre Cardin. “He’s spooned, he’s groomed. He’s dipped and whipped. And he’s suited and booted,” Snoop said, looking absolutely delighted. That’s when he began the “little French dog” chant, while playing a mean game of keepaway avec Pierre and a diamond-white basketball. Beautiful. —S.V.L.

Dancing With the Gymnastics Team in the Stands
Simone Biles spotted Snoop first. The 38-time medalist was standing on the gymnastics floor during the qualifying round earlier this week when she suddenly gestured to her teammates and pointed into the audience. There was Snoop, hanging out in the stands in full dance-mode, arms outstretched and grooving. Within seconds, Jordan Chiles was right there with him, laughing and enjoying an impromptu dance party alongside Biles. It was just another example of the rapper building up the athletes and making the games that much more entertaining. —J.L. -
Cheering for Caleb Dresser
Imagine looking up at the stands from the pool as you earn a gold medal and seeing an ecstatic Snoop Dogg clapping and cheering for you alongside your wife. That’s what Caleb Dressel experienced after he competed in the Men’s 4x100m freestyle relay and earned gold. “Go baby, go!” cheered Dressel’s wife Meghan alongside Snoop. “You got it, baby!” screamed the rap star. “Gold! Gold! Gold! Gold!” He could’ve said the word eight times — that’s how many gold medals Dressel has earned over his illustrious career. —T.M.

Swimming With Michael Phelps
One of the best things about Snoop’s Olympics presence is that he seems game for anything, like this segment featuring swimming legend Michael Phelps. Saying he has the wingspan and “lung power” needed to excel, Snoop donned a cap and trunks and got in the pool with 23-time gold Olympic medal winner for a little lesson. Snoop may not have perfect form, but his sense of humor remained intact. “Shout out to the Phelps family,” he pants, “and to the team that’s going to give me some oxygen right now.” —L.T.

Carrying the Torch
The handling of the Olympic torch is reserved for icons of icons. Snoop’s rap peers can boast about gaudy purchases and lucrative brand deals, but his time with the torch during the opening ceremony put him on hallowed ground. There was a time when he was the coverboy for America’s fear-mongering around hip-hop, but now he’s among the world’s most popular rappers, adding another bullet point to his accomplished career. The only way the moment would’ve been cooler is if he got to light up from the torch. —A.G.

Getting Trolled by Simone’s Mom
Snoop joined Hoda Kotb for a quick interview with Simone Biles’ parents, who caught the correspondents up on how the gymnast was feeling just before competing. Biles’ mother shared that her daughter was excited that 17 of her family members had made it out to support her. Then she teased Snoop a little: She told him that he had met Biles years ago, though Snoop didn’t seem to remember. “I will never forget that we met you in Times Square, 2010, “ she said. “ We asked for a picture — you said, ‘Two minutes.’ One, two, and you were gone!” The story made Snoop immediately burst into laughter. —J.L.

Snoop’s Hilarious Custom Pin
Tennis star Coco Gauff, sadly, is not taking home an Olympic gold medal in women’s singles, but she is leaving Paris with something else pretty rare and special: an Olympic pin from Snoop, featuring the rapper standing near the Eiffel Tower blowing five circles of smoke resembling the Olympics rings into the air. “Got something for you, beautiful. This is for you. Great game today. Go, USA,” says Snoop, wearing a Gauff T-shirt, in a video posted on Instagram. Gauff responds: “‘Hey Mr Snoop. Thank you for this pin. This is the best pin.” It may not be licensed by the IOCC, but betting this one is much sought-after by obsessive pin traders. —L.T.

Taking on the Race Track
Snoop Dogg, known for his chart-topping singles, tried out a new kind of track during the 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials. “The Drop It Like It’s Hot” rapper competed in a 200m exhibition race, dressed in American flag sweatpants and a star-spangled shirt that paid homage to Kobe Bryant. Snoop had his work cut out for him, competing against four-time Olympic medallist Ato Bolden and two-time NCAA 200m champion Wallace Spearman. What started as a close race between Snoop and Spearman during the first stretch quickly became a blowout for the rapper. Snoop was just happy to have crossed the finish line: “34.44 for a 52-year-old? Ain’t bad.” —K.R.

But his best outfits so far have been the ones repping Team USA stars Simone Biles and Coco Gauff. For Gauff’s tennis competition, Snoop sported a custom-made t-shirt with a large print of the Olympian. He pulled out all the stops for the GOAT Simone Biles: Underneath his official Olympics zip-up, Snoop’s wore a t-shirt with the decorated gymnast beaming as she showed off all of her medals. —M.G.

Snoop Dogg, Badminton Commentator
Badminton might not seem like the coolest sport on the planet — a touch stuffy and old-fashioned, dare we say? But don’t try telling that to Snoop Dogg. He was fully engaged when he got to join the broadcast team for a U.S.-China match. “Oh, I love this badminton right here,” tha Doggfather said. “As you see, it don’t stop ‘til the casket drop. They’re rockin’ and rollin’, back and forth.” Then he narrated a rally in vivid play-by-play form: “Gimme that. No, I need that. Nope, over here. Nope, over there. What about over there… Nope, sit down. Wait a minute, hold on…. Get out the way! Move! I told you, we need that!” OK, fine, we love badminton now too. —S.V.L.
