Taylor Swift was a big winner at the 2024 Grammy Awards, but her showing at the event was only some of the biggest news of the night.
The icon celebrated her Best Pop Vocal Album win for Midnights by announcing a new album. During her acceptance speech she said, “This is my 13th Grammy…I want to say thank you to the members of the Recording Academy for voting this way, but I know that the way that the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans. So I want to say ‘thank you’ to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years—which is that my brand new album comes out April 19.”
Swift also took home the award for Album of the Year for Midnights. Before taking the stage, Taylor and Jack Antonoff embraced in a big hug.
Billie Eilish also took home some important hardware, winning Song of the Year for her contribution to the Barbie Soundtrack, “What Was I Made For?”
boygenius won two awards, celebrating victories in the following categories: Best Rock Performance (for “Not Strong Enough)” and Best Alternative Music Album for their LP the record.
The Beatles added yet another Grammy to their incredible career with the animated music video for “I’m Only Sleeping,” which took home the award for Best Music Video.
Coco Jones won the award for Best R&B Performance for her track “ICU,” and Chris Stapleton won in the Best Country Solo Performance category for “White Horse.” He won in the Best Country Song category for the same song.
Karol G won the Best Música Urbana Album award for Mañana Será Bonito.
Stax Records, meanwhile, was honored with a pair of Grammys for the archival collection Written In Their Soul: The Stax Songwriter Demos—a seven-CD collection of 146 tracks putting the spotlight on Stax’s legendary roster of songwriters.
