In January, Tokyo Police Club announced that they’d be breaking up after a farewell tour. The Canadian band has now shared the details of the tour, which culminates with four shows at Toronto’s History. See the group’s tour dates below.
Tokyo Police Club have also shared their final two songs, which they recorded with producer Jesse Turnbull at Toronto’s Taurus Recording. Below, listen to “Just a Scratch” and “Catch Me If You Can.”
Vocalist and bassist Dave Monks, guitarist and keyboardist Graham Wright, drummer Greg Alsop, and guitarist Josh Hook formed Tokyo Police Club in Ontario in the mid-2000s. After gaining some attention with EPs like A Lesson in Crime and Smith, the band released its first full-length album, Elephant Shell, in 2008. Three more studio albums—2010’s Champ; 2014’s Forcefield; and 2018’s TPC— followed.
“We have been so fortunate and privileged to have been able to share our music but even more to have had personal moments shared with us—from graduations to birthdays and onstage proposals,” Josh Hook said in a statement on the impending farewell tour. “To still see the same familiar faces who have been coming out since the beginning of our touring days and to be connected with so many people through music over almost 20 years of life is truly an honour. This final tour will be the best retirement party anyone could ask for. Thank you so much for being with us on this wild ride.”
