Watch Billie Eilish’s NPR Tiny Desk Concert

Billie Eilish is the latest artist to grace NPR’s well-loved Tiny Desk concert series. On December 12th, Eilish visited the Washington, D.C. set to perform four re-imagined tracks from her 2024 album Hit Me Hard And Soft: “The Greatest,” “L’Amour De Ma Vie,” “i love you,” and “Birds Of A Feather.” She performed alongside a small band including her brother and lead producer, Finneas, on guitar; Andrew Marshall on drums; Solo Smith on bass; and Abe Nouri on piano.

NPR’s Anamaria Sayre wrote of Eilish’ show: “Every breath is so full of indulgent melancholy, hopeful regret, at 22 years old she’s become a captivating fixture of what it means, or rather what it feels, to love and lose simultaneously.” The pared-down setting is a far cry from Eilish’ current Hit Me Hard And Soft tour, which began in September in North America and will make stops in Europe, Asia, Australia and New Zealand in 2025.

Hit Me Hard And Soft, which Eilish released in May 2024, has received widespread acclaim from both fans, who sent the album to No. 1 on the Billboard charts in more than 20 countries, and critics. The record is up for six different awards at the 2025 Grammys: Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, Song of the Year and Record of the Year. This year, she won both Song of the Year and Best Song Written for Visual Media for her Barbie: The Album offering “What Was I Made For?”

Since NPR held its first Tiny Desk in 2008, they’ve hosted countless artists and bands on the intimate stage. Prior to Eilish’s show, recent performers included the cast of Broadway’s Stereophonic, the rapper Doechii, the Americana group Old Crow Medicine Show, and indie rocker Rosie Tucker.
