The news comes just a short while after Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, and Yungblud performed together during the VMAs, a performance in which they ultimately teased the forthcoming EP.

The trio, alongside Nuno Bettencourt, performed an Ozzy Osbourne tribute medley of “Crazy Train,” “Changes,” and “Mama, I’m Coming Home” at the 2025 Video Music Awards on September 7.

The release marks the first new music from Aerosmith in 12 years, and the first songs from the band since they announced their retirement from touring in August of 2024.

The EP consists of four brand new songs, plus a new version of the Aerosmith classic “Back In the Saddle,” all featuring vocals from Yungblud and Steven Tyler. In addition to “My Only Angel” and a 2025 Mix of “Back in the Saddle,” other tracks include “Problems,” “Wild Woman,” and “A Thousand Days.”

Earlier this year, Aerosmith and the NBA launched the “Don’t Miss A Thing” campaign for the NBA Playoffs, soundtracked by Aerosmith’s chart-topping smash, “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing.”

When the news broke, Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry said, “We have a long history with the NBA, cheering for our hometown Celtics throughout the years. We have shared that electrifying moment walking into TD Garden and feeling the love and energy of the crowd.”

As for Yungblud, back in July, he shared a new documentary exploring the making of the music video for his song, “Zombie.” The track appeared on his fourth studio album, Idols, which he released on June 20.

The music video is described as a “love letter to nurses,” and stars Florence Pugh as a hardworking healthcare worker navigating a late-night shift. As Yungblud details in the episode of Vevo’s Footnotes series, he reached out to Florence Pugh on Instagram to ask if she’d be interested in collaborating on a video, sharing: “I’m a really big fan of her work. It was amazing to hear that she’s a fan of mine.”
