Ben Platt Shares ‘Cherry On Top’ Video

Grammy and Tony award-winner Ben Platt has shared a new video for his latest single, “Cherry On Top,” and it co-stars his real life fiancé, actor Noah Galvin. Directed by Platt himself, the retro-style video pairs with the old-school sweetness of the track’s lyrics: “You’re my sundae feeling, it’s a sweet life even when it’s not. Cause your love is the cherry on top.”

“Cherry On Top” follows last month’s release of “Andrew,” the first single off Platt’s upcoming album Honeymind, out May 31st via Interscope. On the album’s name, Platt wrote, “One day I ate some mushroom chocolate and went on a hike with the love of my life. I thought about how to describe to him that I was just so happy to be in love with him. That my love for him somehow softens things and slows it all down.” ‘Honeymind’ is the word Platt came up with to represent the feeling. When it comes to the album’s subject matter, he shared, “I wrote about finding real love. About being grateful for it and tending to it, and all of the work we have to do as individuals to find security in who we are, so that we’re ready for that real love when it comes along.”

Last week, Platt announced The Honeymind Tour, which will visit venues across North America this summer. The tour will be kicking off July 18th in Boston, MA and making stops at marquee venues including the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, CA, two nights at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN, and two nights at Massey Hall in Toronto, ON. Brandy Clark, Grammy winner and songwriter for the Tony-winning Broadway musical Shucked, will support on all dates. All tickets are available at the general on-sale Thursday, April 18th. Ticket information can be found at Platt’s website.
