PJ Harvey Announces First North American Tour in 7 Years, Shares New “Seem an I” Video: Watch

PJ Harvey has announced her first proper tour of North America since 2017. The new shows in support of I Inside the Old Year Dying begin in September. See Harvey’s upcoming tour dates, including spring and summer performances across Europe and the United Kingdom, below.

Harvey’s 2017 tour of North America included a performance at Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago. She developed her current live show with theater director Ian Rickson, set designer Rae Smith, lighting designers Paule Constable and Louisa Smurthwaite, and fashion designer Todd Lynn. She performs on tour with bandmates John Parish, Jean-Marc Butty, Giovanni Ferrario, and James Johnston.

Along with the tour news, Harvey has shared the music video for “Seem an I.” The visual, filmed at England’s Kennel Farm, was directed by Colm Bairéad and stars Ruth Wilson. Watch it below.

“Ruth and I became friends after working together on Clio Barnard’s film Dark River,” PJ Harvey said in a press statement. “I have always greatly admired Ruth’s work as an actor, so had long harboured a dream that we might work together again in some way. When the opportunity to work with Colm Bairéad came up I knew him to be a director Ruth thought highly of, as I did, so it felt right to ask her if she would star in the film. I find the resulting short film beautiful and moving for having Ruth’s magical presence, and Colm’s unique vision.”

Ruth Wilson added, “I have always been a huge fan of PJ, so it was a great privilege to work alongside Colm and Polly to bring ‘Seem an I’ to visual life in this mysterious and hypnotic short film. There is no better way to spend a day in the magical world of PJ Harvey.”

I Inside the Old Year Dying earned PJ Harvey a nomination for Best Alternative Music Album at the 2024 Grammy Awards. It was the eighth nomination of the British musician’s career; she’s yet to win a Grammy.
